Our 10th anniversary Festival takes place from 17 – 21 September 2014, once again transforming the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed into one big screen through film premieres, site-specific installations and live events in locations across Berwick and along the town walls, attracting over 8,000 visitors, and artists and filmmakers from all corners of the world to Berwick.
The full programme is now live, and a Festival Pass can get you in to everything for only £35!
This year, with our theme Border Crossing, we will once again take audiences on a journey, setting out to cross and transcend borders in all directions, exploring border identities all over the world. Berwick-upon-Tweed makes an ideal starting point: a border town in a region once known as ‘the debatable lands,’ with an identity neither English nor Scottish, but all of its own.
Taking place in the same week as the historic Scottish independence referendum, and marking our tenth anniversary edition, the Festival will bring together independent film and artists’ video to explore boundaries – on the map and in the mind – and the spaces in between. We hope you can join us!
We’re delighted to be hosting a launch event for Jukebox Kino – a new distribution platform which will go live following the Festival in September.
