Co-inciding with this years festival, our friends at ReSTAGE and The Maltings Theatre & Cinema present an adaptation of Shakespeare’s final masterpiece: Tempests!
An adaption of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest (1611) Four hundred years have passed since the magician Prospero left his enchanted island to reclaim his usurped Dukedom. He disowned his wizardry and released the spirit Ariel, but the creature Caliban remained behind. What has happened since?
Become immersed in this classic tale as you explore the strange world and characters in the unique setting of the Penny Lodging House. The team that created last year’s atmospheric show about Lowry, Figures Half Unreal, return with their latest site-specific work. The production includes new songs for Ariel commissioned by ReStage from Berwick composer Peter Keenan.
Timed tickets will be issued for these promenade performances at £10 / £8 concs from The Maltings Theatre and Cinema Box Office, 01289 330999 or from www.maltingsberwick.co.uk
