Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival: North by Northeast
Wednesday 25th – Sunday 29th September 2013
Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival is an annual, international, celebration of the art of film, and we are looking for a team of enthusiastic, dedicated and friendly volunteers to help create the biggest and most successful edition to date.
What we’re looking for
There are many different ways to be involved with the festival – the skills, knowledge and interests of our volunteers will help shape the festival.
Volunteering with Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival is ideally suited to those wishing to develop a career within the cultural sector or events management, to develop new skills, make friends, improve employability or simply to meet likeminded people and ultimately be part of an exciting, creative festival environment. We hope to provide each volunteer with a unique experience of the festival, tailored to suit their skills, interests and passions allowing each volunteer to get the most of their experience. To apply you must be at least 16 years of age, and there is no maximum age limit.

- We can offer assistance with travel and accommodation where needed, and as agreed with the Volunteers Coordinator
Volunteer Roles
Here are some of the main roles that festival volunteers can get involved in, if you have any particular interests in certain areas of the festival or experience you think is relevant please let us know and we will do our best to match your skills and experience to your role as a festival volunteer.
General / Stewarding
Stewarding, ushering and invigilation of festival events and exhibitions.
Production / Technical
Helping with the installation, running and take-down of exhibitions and events
Marketing / Promotion
Promotional support, e-marketing, social media support, distribution of marketing materials and inputting audience data.
Photography / Documentation
Documenting the events, films and exhibitions through photography and video.
Office / Admin
Assisting the festival team in the office with general festival admin including mail-outs, inputting data and collating information.
About Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival
Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival returns for its eighth celebration of the art of film – Wednesday 25th – Sunday 29th September – illuminating the whole town through premiere screenings, site-specific installations and specially commissioned projects.
Each year the programme responds to a chosen theme, and this year we face North by Northeast; exploring Berwick's Nordic roots, and our region's historical, cultural and industrial links to Northern Europe, and to the North Sea which connects us.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the festival this year. We aren't currently looking for volunteers but we will start recruitment again in August 2013 and would love to contact you then to find out how you would like to be involved.
